About Verdome

Nearly 40 years of making light belong in a room.

Verdome was founded by Jeremy Quantrill, who held a Royal Warrant to Queen Elizabeth II in his previous career and was awarded one again after Verdome was formed. He brings nearly 40 years of experience in bespoke lighting design, manufacture and restoration.

Jeremy is closely involved at every stage, from design to installation. Here he is checking a new choir stall light on site at St Michael & All Angels, Barnes. It is a fitting made to suit the room and the brief, in brass and glass and sized to sit on the stall. It is the same hands-on care he brings to every commission, from a single church light to hundreds of fittings.

Jeremy has been lighting historic buildings since the 1990s, as Lighting Historian to the Palace of Westminster and on commissions at St Paul's Cathedral and for Royal Households. His work has been just as much at home in contemporary interiors, including Bloomberg, superyachts and hotels such as Claridge's, The Lanesborough, The Berkeley, The Dorchester and No. 1 Park Lane.

Verdome has carried that standard across historic and contemporary settings alike, from the Palace of Westminster and Windsor Castle to At Sloane, Bob Bob Ricard in Golden Square, Cadogan Estates, Theatre Royal and the University of Greenwich.

Our work runs from churches and historic buildings to luxury hotels, restaurants, superyachts and high-end homes. We design and supply luxury bespoke lighting and custom lighting, including church lighting and choir stall lights, to suit the room and the brief, and we look after existing fittings through chandelier restoration, chandelier cleaning and lighting refurbishment. For heritage clients, we know how to preserve a historic fitting, and how to bring in modern technology without losing the integrity of the original. A trusted circle of specialist craftspeople and artisans lets us take on work of any scale.

Every commission is treated with the same care, from first concept to finished piece.

How we work

A clear path from first conversation to finished fitting.

  1. Listen and survey

We start with your building, your brief and the fittings already in place. Where heritage is involved, we record what is there and how it has aged.

  2. Advise and specify

You receive plain advice on the options, with a written recommendation you can take to your team, committee or architect.

  3. Make or restore

Our trusted partner craftspeople make new fittings or restore existing ones, to the specification we agreed, with Verdome overseeing the work from start to finish.
